Security Operations

Security Operations Responsibilities

During security operations, one of the most important responsibilities of unarmed security officers are to prevent, deter and to interdict. Security officers must be vigilant, visible and able to observe and report. Clients will hire security officers when they perceive potential risks of vandalism, theft or disturbance of the peace on their property. The Securus Group provides the best trained and most professional security officers. Our security operations concept ensures that our security officers are held responsible to frequently patrol and to be visible, which will contribute to preventing most crimes. The Securus Group meets the need in recruiting experienced, customer-service-oriented professionals to provide security, fire, life, and safety-related services. Our Security Officers must demonstrate a professional appearance and excellent communication skills.

Our Security Officers must also meet one of the following criteria before applying to The Securus Group:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Military or police experience
  • Customer-service work experience
  • Security experience in a position involving extensive public contact

After applying, and successfully completing the hiring process, officers are also certified in First Aid, CPR & AED, handcuffing, expandable baton, and OC Spray. Additionally, they are required to complete a 4-hour customer service orientation.

Securus Group Audits

During our security operations, Securus Group conducts random and unannounced inspections during the week and weekend to assess the presence, appearance, demeanor, performance, and knowledge of our security officers. Inspections are conducted by all members of management, including sergeants, lieutenants, general managers, and the chief. Reports on all visits are summarized and disclosed to client management. Deficiencies noted are accompanied by a detailed action plan.

Key audit categories include:

  • Security officer’s presence
  • Security officer’s appearance and demeanor
  • Uniform (meet/does not meet standards)
  • Knowledge of the standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures
  • Review of logs and incident reports
  • Security officer feedback on necessary account/shift improvements
  • Training exercise (questions are asked and scenarios are presented)

Our motto at the Securus Group has always been “our client comes first”. It is due, in part, to the belief that Securus Group surpasses the level of expectation in contract security.
